Dr. Mona Ali works as an associate professor at the Khoury College of Computer Sciences . An esteemed CS educator and Natural Language Processing (NLP) researcher, she boasts nearly two decades of extensive experience in CS education across multiple geographical regions, including the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and North America. Dr. Ali obtained her MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Her professional experience extends to training and development in industrial settings. Prior to her relocation to North America, she conceptualized and implemented multiple accelerator programs in software engineering and data science, targeting both STEM and non-STEM graduates in the United Kingdom. With a rich background in instructing undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students in CS, Mona places a strong emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
